Thanks for the question. I spent a lot of time studying for the first exam -- roughly 50-60 reading through the Training Kit (http://www.amazon.com/Self-Paced-Training-70-536-70-528-70-547/dp/0735623767) and taking the provided sample exam. I did really well on the first exam and opted to only focus on the stuff I knew I didn't know well for exam 2 and 3. Therefore, my time spent studying dropped as I moved through the process.

I got my MCSD a while back so I was already familiar with the testing process. For example, I knew from past experience that a good number of questions would be rather obscure but they could be reasoned out if I spent enough time on them. Often there would be a single (and subtle) statement which completely changed the meaning of the question and thus the answer. I found that I needed to read each question a couple of times. I'm sure some folks can quickly get through each exam, but I took my time and rechecked all of my answers.

Best of luck to you, Jeff.

So how much studying did you do? Was the test what you expected? Did you use any of the automated practice exams? I'm in a similar position, just need to make the commitment to study -
